About Us
James Garland founded Garland Dental Lab in 1978 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Subsequently, invented and patented the Monotrac Horizontal Die in 1990. As the first single pour to fully articulated model, the Monotrac was a breakthrough in dental technology. Since 1991, several companies have developed single-pour systems, but none equal the accuracy, ease of use and versatility of the Monotrac system.
The articulator quickly gained market acceptance for its simplicity, ease of use and accuracy. Based on suggestions from several dental laboratories, Mr. Garland also developed a disposable articulator. While several companies have expressed interest in developing and marketing the Monotrac disposable articulator, Mr. Garland elected to control the development of the articulator himself to maintain exacting standards for the system.
Since its original version, the Monotrac system has evolved into a far more versatile, sophisticated system. Jim Garland continues to enhance the system with new products and functionality, adding an increasing number of patents to the company’s portfolio. Monotrac’s goal is to continue to provide the dental laboratory industry with high quality products that are easy to use with superior accuracy with time and money saving benefits. |
